Isaac Pflaum is a licensed patent agent with more than 7 years of experience in patent litigation before district courts, the USPTO, and the International Trade Commission. In numerous patent cases, Mr. Pflaum has prepared declarations and invalidity and non-infringement contentions based on source code review, technical and engineering specifications, and reverse engineering of hardware description language used in electronic circuit design. In some cases, Mr. Pflaum also has prepared custom demonstratives, including working instances of prior art software to demonstrate how asserted claimed elements were publicly available prior to a critical date.
Mr. Pflaum has consulted for the premier patent litigation firms in the U.S. in software patent cases involving several of the largest technology, financial services, and automobile companies in the world. Mr. Pflaum has also assisted counsel for small and medium sized businesses and startups in preparing infringement, non-infringement and invalidity contentions, performing pre-litigation assessments and preparing clearance opinions.
